Born in Argentina to a family of musicians; Sebastian Plano grew up surrounded by music.

He began studying violoncello at the age of 7 and started composing as early as the age of 12. Close family members taught him to appreciate music deeply and to discover for himself the heart and essence behind such a wonderful art. It became for him not just a form of entertainment but rather a human necessity.

While greatly influenced by his home, Sebastian's studies took him across the world. In 2003, he had the opportunity to attend the United World College of the Adriatic in Italy on a full scholarship. He learned from this life changing experience how essential it is for a person to discover and understand other cultures and to contribute to them in an altruistic manner. This has become a significant part of him as an artist.

Since then Sebastian has been offered full scholarships to The Boston Conservatory, where he has obtained his Bachelors degree in Music, and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he continue with his Master's Degree. He holds a dual citizenship (Argentinian and Italian) and speaks English, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish; his mother tongue.

As a musician and composer Sebastian enjoys and is inspired by various artists. For him, Elgar's Cello Concerto in E minor is a major exponent in Romantic period as is Radiohead in Rock, Astor Piazzolla in Tango, Vangelis in electronic music and Arvo Part in contemporary composition. He regards L.V. Beethoven as a god of music and personally devotes his love of music to J.S. Bach.

Besides writing many genres of music, Sebastian's love for working with others has led him to explore and create collaborative works of art including music for plays, film and dance. Recently he has been working with dancers to create a series of site-specific ;dance for the camera videos; using his music compositions and improvisations.

During the summer of 2009 he traveled to Cyprus to work with writter Simao Valente as part of the 100 Projects for Peace innitiative sponsored by Kathryn Wasserman Davis. This is the 2nd time he is receiving a grant under this project to bring music and arts to regions experiencing social conflict.

Dedicated and spontaneous Sebastian embraces the experiences that come his way. "If I want some ice-cream I just go out and get it"...

For him, music means the great satisfaction of connecting with others and the essence and potential of being alive.
